Welcome to the IAME2009 conference
Copenhagen the 24th – 26th of June 2009
The annual IAME conference is the most important academic event in the global community of maritime economists - both in terms of academic inspiration and networking. Therefore, it was with great pleasure and pride that we invited participants from more than 35 countries to Copenhagen in 2009 to attend the IAME conference.
The Department of Maritime Research and Innovation (MRI) at the University of Southern Denmark hosted the conference. The conference was organised by a Nordic consortium consisting of the following partners:
- Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH)
- School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University (HGU)
- Center for Shipping Economics and Innovation (CENSEI) at Copenhagen
Business School (CBS) - Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC)
- Maritime Development Centre of Europe (MDCE)
- Department of Maritime Research and Innovation (MRI) at the University
of Southern Denmark (SDU)
All partners have each in their own way achieved considerable success in the areas of maritime transport, management and logistics through their research and educational activities. Together, we are committed to organise an ambitious, unique IAME conference with a global focus and a distinct Nordic flavour. Our goal is to enhance the IAME network and the dialogue between the stakeholders of the maritime sector and the IAME research community.
We have chosen to place the conference in Copenhagen for its convenient location, for its ambition to become an important centre of shipping, and not the least for its international, relaxed and wonderful atmosphere. We are looking very much forward to seeing you in Copenhagen in June 2009!
